FEVERS
Students will be sent home from school any time their temperature is 100 degrees or more or the nurse or principal's office determines the individual should not be at school due to an illness.  Upon determining the child is ill, the nurse or principal's office will notify the parent/guardian that they need to come and pick their student up from school.  The student is at no time to call on his/her own accord and request a parent to come and get him/her from school.  If this should happen, we ask parents/guardians to immediately phone the school and verify the student's condition.  In addition, students who are experiencing diarrhea should stay home or will be sent home if they are having severe and/or frequent episodes of diarrhea for more than 24 hours.

FRACTURES
All fractures must be accompanied by a note from a physician in regards to limiting activity.  When the cast is removed a statement is needed from the physician stating when the student may resume normal activity.  This information needs to be given to the school nurse.

HEAD LICE
Students sent home with head lice must be treated with special head lice shampoo before returning to school and must be re-shampooed again in seven days of the original treatment.  Upon returning to school, the student is to be accompanied by the parent to the clinic for the nurse to check for lice/nits. It is recommended that the parent bring in verification of the treatment in the form of the treatment bottle or label.

MILK ALLERGIES
Milk allergies which require juice be served in place of milk must be ordered by a physician.
